Communities

The communities between actors were detected in the graph of all actors described under the Graph page which resulted in the following zoomable graph: As seen on the graph there are a lot of large communities.
In order to analyse these communities a community analisys were conducted in order to see what these communities consists of.
in the graph it can be seen that there are 6 closely grouped communities, these are analysed in order to find out why they are grouped as they are:

Community 1 - grey circle - Old movies Community 5 - Dark red cirlce - French movies Community 6 - Lime green circle - Asian kung fu Community 7 - turquoise circle - Indian movies Community 21 - Grey triangle - New movies Community 24 - Pink triangle - Japanese

There are also alot of communities which lies betweeen the new and old movies, these are communities with actors who has been in both old and newer movies. Community detection were also carried out on all of the time periods descriped in the Graph page:

1900-1970 1970-1980 1980-1990 1990-2000 2000-2018

In the graphs above it can be seen that the communities are not as grouped when splitting them into the time periods. The data is therefore not as interresting to look at, however it is available here: Community data in periods
In the above text file it can also be seen that the average sentiment score for each community is almost the same, therefore it is not possible to find enjoyable actor groups based on these communities.
